Without an account, Regatta Pulse sends nothing to our servers. Everything stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
If you create an account, your sessions —including the GPS positions the app records while you sail— are copied to our servers for one purpose: so that you don't lose them and can get them back on another device.
The account is optional and free. There are no ads, no tracking and no third-party analytics. We never sell or share your data.
The app uses your iPhone's and Apple Watch's GPS to measure speed, heading and distance to the start line, and the motion sensors to compute heel and trim. Sessions, tracks, events and notes are stored on your device. You can export or delete them at any time from within the app, with no account and no connection.

We do not ask for or store your real name, phone number, contacts, photos or health data.
Data is hosted on Railway servers in the United States. Your session files travel encrypted and are stored separately from the database.
The developer can access your account information, including your tracks, in order to provide support and keep the service running. We would rather say so plainly than leave it implied. Access happens for no other purpose, and this data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
Confirmation and password-reset emails are delivered through Resend, which acts solely as a carrier and receives your email address for that purpose.
For as long as your account is open. You can delete a single session from the app —it is removed from your device and from the server— or delete the whole account.
When you request deletion there is a seven-day grace period during which signing in again cancels it; it is a safety net against an accidental tap that would otherwise take years of sessions with it. After that, the account and all of its files are permanently erased, with no copies kept.
Sessions stored on your iPhone are not deleted when you delete your account: they are yours and they stay on your device.
To pre-load the estimated wind, the app queries the free Open-Meteo service, sending the approximate coordinates of your position. That request is anonymous: it carries no identifier of you or your device, and it happens whether you have an account or not.
Your sessions may also travel in your iPhone's normal iCloud backup, managed by Apple under its own privacy policy. The "Export backup" feature creates a local file that only you decide where to share.
You can access, export, correct and delete your data from within the app, without asking anyone for permission. If you would rather do it in writing, or want a copy of everything we hold about you, write to us and we will sort it out.
In Argentina, the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública is the supervisory authority for Law 25.326 on the Protection of Personal Data and handles complaints from anyone who believes their rights have been affected.
Regatta Pulse is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
If what we do with your data changes in substance, the app will show you and ask you to accept it again before continuing. Quietly updating this page is not enough.
